Silvano CINCOTTI - Professor

Silvano Cincotti is professor at the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering, University of Genoa. He graduated in Electronic Engineering (summa cum laude) at the University of Genoa in 1990. From 1990 to 1993 he was a Ph.D. student at the Politecnico di Milano. He was awarded a Ph.D. (Dottorato di Ricerca) in Bioengineering in 1994. In 1992 he was visiting researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Polymerforschung of Mainz, Germany. From 1993 to 1998 he was assistan professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Cagliari. From 1998 to 2004 he was associate professor at the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering, University of Genoa.

  • Silvano Cincotti is Head of I2 research group at DIBE and is also co-founder and Head of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Economics and Financial Engineering (CINEF).
    His scientific activities have been carried on within more than 50 national and international project grants. He is presently Coordinator of the EU IST-FET Strep Project EURACE (2006-2009) and partner of the EU NEST Strep Project COMPLEXMARKET(2005-2008). Silvano Cincotti is the author of more then 150 scientific articles. He is presently on the editorial board of the Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination and of the International Journal of Automation and Computing. He is member of the Society for Computational Economics - SCE, of the Society for the Economic Sciences of Heterogeneous Interacting Agents - ESHIA and of the IEEE within the Computational Finance and Economics Network.
